A classic bourbon with a slight kick of spice from the added rye.

Backed by a classic bourbon recipe comprised of 70 percent corn, 20 percent wheat and a small combination of barley and rye, Featherbone is the cornerstone of the Journeyman Distillery.

The beauty of most Journeyman products is that all ingredients are grown locally in the region and certified organic. In keeping with this practice, this bourbon is literally a combination of bits and pieces of the Midwest - wheat from Michigan, corn and rye from Illinois, barley from Minnesota and so on. Ezra's takes particular pride in the Illinois rye (we have to play favorites with our home state) which provides the perfect kick of spice.

  • Tasting notes
  • Nose:
    A slight caramel, toffee and vanilla aroma, but not an overly sweet smell.
  • Palate:
    The toasted wheat taste is picked up on first sip, followed by a slight taste of caramel, toffee and vanilla as found in the nose, yet not overly dramatic.
  • Finish:
    A long finish, but not one that is very prominent. The traditional bitter finish of bourbon fades quickly leaving the toasted wheat flavor.
